Created for Reebok’s Boston headquarters, this generative light installation welcomes employees and visitors with a physical manifestation of the athletic brand’s spirit of movement and strength. By mimicking the speed and mood of its environment, IMPULSE adds a narrative element to a functional office space.

Parametrically cut metal plates are backlit by 1050 LED pixels. The pattern and placement of the cut-outs establish the visual appearance of a flow field, while changes in the lighting further intensify the illusion of fluidity.
Reebok’s headquarters are situated right on the waterfront in Boston’s historic Seaport District. The area’s contrast between industrial toughness and marine movement perfectly represents the brand’s vision, and FELD seized the opportunity to create a piece that reflects this spirit in both materiality and rhythm.
